Ryanair Proves that People Really Want their Face on a Plane

Ryanair found an ideal way to promote its Facebook page with its ’30 Names 30 Planes’ competition, marking the airline’s 30th anniversary.

Thirty photogenic individuals will get to fly Ryanair indefinitely–as part of the livery.

The contest has proven very successful. Ryanair just announced it has reached 250,000 Facebook followers.

“We’ve pleased to have attracted a quarter of a million followers in the six weeks since we joined Facebook, on the day we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our first flight, and we look forward to bringing more great offers, content and competitions to our fans,” says Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Robin Kiely. “We’ve had thousands of ‘30 Names 30 Planes’ entries so far.”
