Emirates Airlines has signed Jennifer Aniston as its brand ambassador for a new $20m global TV and digital campaign and it’s sure getting its money’s worth in giggles.
In this first ad, Aniston dreams that she’s stuck on a plane with no showers or bars. Gasp!
It’s quirky and amusing, in contrast to more stylised high-concept commercials touting the luxury of competitors’ premium products.
“Jennifer Aniston’s appeal and effortless connection with a global audience makes her the perfect choice for our campaign,” said Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president for marketing & brand. “As one of the busiest women in Hollywood, Aniston, like many of our customers, enjoys downtime only when she is travelling. At Emirates, we ensure the experience is an exceptional one.”
Waiting for rebuttal ad where passenger’s offered choice of designer outfit/small car etc. for the same money as that shower and bar stool perch????
Ha! Well, First class passengers probably already have those things at home, and just want to be pampered when they travel. Speaking for myself only, a hot towel and peanuts sounds nice. As long as I get to travel, I’m happy.
True of course, just last week $1M of Hermes bags were stolen from a Melbourne suburb. Assumed it was a retail heist but nope, someone came home to find her favourite bags gone! And yep, put me on a plane and I’m happy.
