SAS Introduces New Value Fare Tier For Business Travellers

SAS has introduced a new fare tier for business travellers looking for value who are willing to give up a little flexibility in return.

The new SAS Plus Saver tier gives passengers access to all the comfort features of the SAS Plus cabin, which include lounge access, Fast Track security, extra baggage, priority boarding, seat selection, and complimentary meal and beverage service onboard, but excludes ticket changes and refunds.

For those who travel on a fixed itinerary, the fares are an ideal compromise.

“We’ve had many of our customers ask for an alternative which includes all the features of SAS plus, but which, for a lower price, gives up the option to cancel or change travel dates free of charge,” explains Stephanie Smitt Lindberge, Head of Product and Customer Loyalty at SAS. “With this new fare tier our customers have an even greater possibility to choose the product which suits their needs best.”

The new fare will be available to book from today on select routes between Scandinavia and Europe with a departure date starting on the 30th of September.

The airline introduced an SAS Go Light fare in April of last year, a no-frills version of its Economy “SAS Go” ticket, tailored to passengers who only carry hand luggage.

In effect, SAS has taken a reverse psychology approach to unbundled tickets, making it about saving money rather than focusing on adding fees. It’s a smart strategy to reach productivity travellers who are keen on deals.
