Airbus has selected Inmarsat SwiftBroadband-Safety (SB-S) service for cockpit communications on its A320 and A330 aircraft families.

Inmarsat credits the size, weight and cost of its equipment for earning this latest Airbus contract.

easyJet CEO Reflects on Long Term Impact of Brexit, Ryanair Reacts

Speaking during the A4E CEO Summit in Brussels on Tuesday, easyJet CEO, Carolyn McCall, shared her views on the impact to the airline industry and on air travellers of the recent vote in favour of Britain leaving the European Union.

McCall spoke both as the CEO of the British Low-Cost carrier, and as a member of the Airlines for Europe (A4E) airline association. A4E’s members serve 60% of Europe’s air travellers.

Why Ethiopian Airlines’ New A350XWB Is More Than A First

During a delivery ceremony on Tuesday in Toulouse, Ethiopian Airlines became the first carrier in the African continent, and the second Star Alliance airline, to fly Airbus’ new state-of-the-art A350 aircraft.

While that alone is an important milestone, the event had greater significance for Airbus, the airline, and the African continent in which Ethiopian Airlines sets high standards.

That the A350 is the first Airbus aircraft selected by Ethiopian Airlines for its young fleet is an important vote of confidence, both for the plane and for the manufacturer, which will resonate with competitors in Africa and beyond.
