During this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, TAP Portugal was announced as the launch customer for the new A330neo featuring Airspace by Airbus cabins.
Today, Bucher Leichtbau AG, Switzerland, announced that the airline has selected customised Bucher galleys and overhead stowage bins for these aircraft, and for seven existing A330-200 planes which will be refurbished.
“The A330neo galleys specification is a new big challenge. Bucher’s performance during the past years and the flexibility offered as well as the known quality were crucial for TAP Portugal during the selection process. We are sure that Bucher will deliver the most efficient galleys for this amazing aircraft and will permit TAP to have a successful entry into service,” says Joel Fragata, Cabin Interiors Product Manager of TAP Portugal.
Bucher has been a TAP Portugal supplier for ten years. The company designs and produces a range of light-weight aluminium and plastic cabin monuments and cabin equipment for single aisle short-haul/mid-haul and twin-aisle long-haul planes; including galleys, stowage and front row monuments, seat components (video systems, tables, consoles), as well as specialised equipment for air rescue flights and VIP aircraft.
Founded in 1953, by Heinrich Bucher, the Bucher group has facilities in Fällanden (Switzerland); Everett, Washington (USA); and in Sinn-Fleisbach (Germany).
