SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has launched a new mobile app which offers passengers in-app flight booking and exclusive fares.
The new Silk Air app, developed through a collaboration with Travelport’s digital solutions firm, MTT, was designed to be fast and intuitive with a convenient seamless user experience from booking to boarding.
Features include include flight booking, with exclusive fares and itinerary management.
The app can be personalised to show relevant flight updates and information. Users can activate push notifications for prompt check-in reminders for upcoming trips.
Those flying from Singapore Changi Airport can also use a Mobile Boarding Pass feature of the app, though that feature is not available on flights originating outside of Singapore.
KrisFlyer members can also check the status of their membership account, including accrued miles and membership tier, in an easy-to-read design. More features will be added in future updates.

The new SilkAir mobile app is now available for download at the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, and compatible with iOS 8 and 9, and all Android versions released after 4.0.3 respectively. MTT has confirmed that an iOS 10 compatible version is in the works.
To celebrate the launch of the new app, SilkAir has announced special “app-clusive” deals, on sale until 17 October 2016, starting from all-in fares of SGD 159 to Langkawi, SGD189 to Phuket and SGD 229 to Yogyakarta, amongst other destinations. Bookings paid with MasterCard on the mobile app also entitle the customer to free Resorts World SEA Aquarium Passes.
