KLM’s New Entertainment App Offers News-On-the-Go

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has launched a new KLM Media App, which offers passenger access to a broad range of international newspapers on their smartphone or tablet.

It’s all the news you want in-flight, without papers weighing you down.

“The KLM Media App is yet another improvement to the service KLM offers its passengers. The app means a selection of newspapers is always to hand, up-to-date, and available for all passengers, both on European and intercontinental flights. We are also exploring the possibility of expanding the app to become a complete entertainment app, including films and series,” says Ryanne van der Eijk, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience, KLM.

The airline has tiered the newspapers travelers can download in keeping with their travel class and Flying Blue level, and passengers can download newspapers 24 hours prior to departure.

KLM is offering a choice of thirteen newspapers to launch the KLM Media App: Le Monde, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Die Welt, El Pais, De Telegraaf, China News Weekly, International New York Times, Financial Times, China Times, Financieele Dagblad, Volkskrant and Trouw. KLM’s own inflight magazine, Holland Herald, is also available in the App. More papers and magazines will be added in the future.

News access that passengers can download before departing is an excellent enhancement to the KLM in-flight entertainment offering and KLM services.

The KLM Media App is available for iOS or Android.
