Frankfurt Airport Introduces Huge Panoramic Entertainment Gate

Frankfurt Airport’s Pier B now features an eye-catching attraction: a huge LED video wall in the area between Gates B44 and B48.

The curved wall is 21 meters wide by 1.6 meters high forming a convex 180º arc. The curvature allows passengers to enjoy the videos playing constantly on the walls no matter where they might be seated at the gate.

The airport has so far produced seven video clips which show airport activities and include destination inspiration. One film shows the journey of a suitcase from the check-in to the belly hold of an aircraft. Destination-themed videos feature vibrant panoramic images from New York and Tokyo.

“The video wall innovatively enriches our broad entertainment and information offering for passengers,” says Thomas Kirner, who heads Fraport AG’s Service Quality department. “The spectacular intallation creates a genuine ‘wow effect’ and turns the time that travelers spend waiting in the gate area into an experience to write home about.”

Fraport says this feature expresses its strong commitment to serving passengers and making travel through Frankfurt Airport a better experience, in keeping with the airport operator’s motto, “Gutte Reise! We make it happen.”
