This is a unique way to get the message across, highlights series available customers might not already know about, makes the airline very relatable–and saves on actors.
For the holiday season, Finnair once again touts its exclusive partnership with the Jolly Holly man. This year the airline reveals the origins of this special Yuletide arrangement with a captivating video documentary.
As part of its 95 years celebrations, Qantas has launched a four-week pop-up exhibition at its Sydney Qantas Club of Barbie and Ken dolls donning …
Emirates Airlines has signed Jennifer Aniston as its brand ambassador for a new $20m global TV and digital campaign and it’s sure getting its money’s worth in giggles.
In this first ad, Aniston dreams that she’s stuck on a plane with no showers or bars. Gasp!
It’s quirky and amusing, in contrast to more stylised high-concept commercials touting the luxury of competitors’ premium products.
“Jennifer Aniston’s appeal and effortless connection with a global audience makes her the perfect choice for our campaign,” said Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president for marketing & brand. “As one of the busiest women in Hollywood, Aniston, like many of our customers, enjoys downtime only when she is travelling. At Emirates, we ensure the experience is an exceptional one.”
How far will you go for freebies? Are you bold enough to rip a poster from a bus stand and walk away cool as a iced cucumber? Evidently, New Yorkers are. According to AdWeek, some go-getters took jetBlue up on a #NYCTakeoff challenge and ripped off 181 bus shelter ads across the five boroughs.
Did they get fined for this pilfering? No! They were rewarded with a whole assortment of treats, including round-trip tickets onboard JetBlue’s fresh Mint cabin. Nice.
When the Pizza Rat thing happened, I asked whether any airline could possibly jump on that trend.
It’s not that JetBlue timed the promotion to coincide with this viral hit, but this rip-a-trip campaign sure fits the Pizza Rat never-miss-an-opportunity theme.
ICYMI (Where were you?!?)
Sartre would be proud. https://t.co/sry6ty768f #PizzaRat #truthandexistence #nausea Can't see airlines jumping on this one. Surprise me!

Having to tote a super-sized JetBlue coupon around New York for treats is not quite the demonstration of perseverance of Pizza Rat–but it’s still pretty impressive.
New York: If you can take it there, you can get anywhere.
Who says diamonds are the only thing which can make a girl happy? Certainly loyalty and sacrifice tops shiny rocks, as Dave the Dog proves in this latest WestJet ad by Publicis London.
Though poor Dave, a Brit, is very much in love with his Canadian girlfriend he’s not very good at fare searches and puts himself in the dog house, just to save on the ticket. Of course, joke’s on Dave: with the launch of WestJet’s low-fares service to Gatwick, he could easily have flown in the cabin instead of a cage.
This mockumentary is as charming as it is clever, and will appear in print ads as well. On social media, Dave’s misadventures are shared with the hashtag #DaveTheDog.
I just love the classic black and white animations of this latest video from American Airlines. Aimed to help customers better understand the full benefits of its AAdvantage Program, it is elegant in its simplicity, smart, and whimsical.
