New Arrivals Hall and Duty-Free Shop Open at Oslo

    The new domestic arrivals hall has opened at Oslo airport; the first large part of the facility to open before the new Oslo Airport officially opens on 27 April 2017.

    As part of the new arrivals terminal, Oslo has opened a new Duty Free shopping area which, at 4,000 square metres, is twice as large as the previous arrivals shop.

      Avinor, which manages 46 airports in Norway, has announced that it will scale up efforts to better connect Oslo and Norway with the Asian continent.

      Oslo Airport is an important communications hub in Norway with approximately 24 million travellers and more than 235,000 aircraft movements per year.

Avinor has appointed Mr. Ulv Elbirk in a consultant role as the new Director Asia Route Development to help grow those numbers, benefitting from Asian tourism and business demand.

      You Won’t Recognise Oslo Airport By This Time Next Year

      With one year to go for the grand opening of a major project to grow Oslo Airport, the airport’s management company, Avinor, reports that the project is running according to plan.

      By the time the doors open on 27 April 2017, Norway’s main airport will be almost twice as large with capacity to serve up to 30 million passengers.
