The arrival of the iconic jewelers at SYD X marks a significant moment in the Australian luxury retail space. This is the first-ever Cartier boutique gracing an Australian airport.

    Cartier’s new expansive boutique, spanning 170 square meters at the Sydney International Airport, is an architectural marvel. Inspired by Sydney Harbour’s iconic yachts, its facade showcases magnificent sails. Each sail towers over 7 meters and is set against a champagne mesh backdrop. Travelers will find a broad selection of Cartier’s famed jewelry and watch collections. But the allure isn’t in the bling alone. Many leather goods, fragrances, and exclusive gifts await the global voyager.

    With the inauguration of Cartier, SYD X, Sydney Airport’s luxury shopping precinct proudly flaunts a portfolio of 20 of the most sought-after global luxury brands. This precinct is home to iconic names, including Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Dior, Gucci, Prada, Saint Laurent, and Cartier. Spread across 2,700 square meters, SYD X’s meticulous design fits the luxury brands assembled. Double-height facades and bespoke store designs position SYD X as a luxury retail destination.

    As international terminal footfalls near pre-pandemic levels, Mark Zaouk, Sydney Airport’s Executive General Manager Commercial, expressed his delight with the new arrival at SYD X. “Cartier’s presence is akin to placing the final jewel in SYD X’s crown.     A Glimpse into SYD X’s Journey

    • Initiated in October 2019, SYD X’s construction sailed through the pandemic, concluding in December 2022.
    • The airport implemented thoughtful design changes, expanding the luxury retail space’s footprint to 2,700 sqm and nearly tripling the ceiling height to almost 10 meters.
    • February 2023 witnessed the official launch of SYD X with 18 luxury brands. Soon after, Versace opened its doors in April, followed by Cartier in September, bringing the total to an unmatched 20 brands.
