March traffic figures published by the airline show a steep decline, of 61.9% in RPKs (revenue passenger kilometres), compared to March 2019, and an average load factor of 48.6%.
Finnair will cut capacity by 90%, starting from 1 April and keep critical air connections for Finland, limited connections to Europe, and one remaining intercontinental route to Japan. The airline cites the “severe impact on demand for air travel” resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
The airline has designed a structure with six fare bundles, four for economy class and two for Business class. Customers can identify them by fares bundles in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL.
