SEA Milan and Shenzhen Sign Sister Airport Agreement

At the Routes World 2023 event in Istanbul, Shenzhen Airport Group and SEA Milan Airports signed a Sister Airport Agreement. This agreement aims to facilitate mutual sustainable development between the two airports.

Under this agreement, SEA Milan Airports and Shenzhen Airport Group will collaborate on various fronts. They will exchange experiences, support each other’s growth, and engage in joint marketing activities. The ultimate goal is to ensure the sustainable operation of air carriers.

Furthermore, this partnership will foster innovation as both airports share ideas and best practices and work on joint projects. Projects include marketing activities and supporting the sustainable operations of air carriers operating out of the two airports. It is an important milestone that signifies the commitment of both airports to drive mutual growth and development through collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

Mr. Chen Fanhua, in charge of the passenger sector of Shenzhen Airport Group, stated, “Milan is one of the world’s largest metropolitan areas as well as the world’s fashion and art center. Owing to joint efforts, Hainan Airlines launched Shenzhen-Milan direct services this year on September 20th. Signing a SAA with SEA Group will further enhance the link between Shenzhen and Milan.

Mr. Andrea Tucci, V.P. Aviation Business Development of SEA Milan Airports, stated: “The signature of the SAA with Shenzhen Airport Group marks an important milestone for the development of air traffic between Milan and China. Shenzhen is a strategic gateway to China as it is the third most economically and technically developed city after Shanghai and Beijing. By signing today, the SAA we put in place a strong cooperation sharing insights and best practices.”
 

About Shenzhen Airport Group

Shenzhen Airport Group was founded in 1989. Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport is a large modern international airport integrating sea, land, air, and rail transport in China. The airport opened to traffic in October 1991, became an international airport in May 1993, and developed into China’s fourth-largest airport in 1996. In cargo and passenger traffic, SEA ranks among Europe’s top ten airport operators. In terms of passenger volume, it is the second-largest operator in Italy and the largest in the country in terms of cargo transportation.
