WestJet has released its new winter schedule, providing Canadians with many options for winter getaways and continuing important domestic and international routes all year round.

WestJet announced its 2023/24 winter schedule today, which includes new year-round service to Calgary from St. John’s for the first time and resuming popular flights to Florida.

WestJet announced new investments in St. John’s today at a special event at the local airport. Notable attendees include Premier Andrew Furey of Newfoundland and Labrador, Mayor Danny Breen of St. John’s, and Dennis Hogan, CEO of the St. John’s International Airport Authority.
“The establishment of a direct route between St. John’s and Calgary is welcome news for our government. This connectivity will aid business and trade and will benefit the travel and tourism industry, as well. I look forward to a continued partnership with WestJet and thank them and the St. John’s International Airport Authority for this achievement,” said the Honorable Dr. Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.

With its recent winter schedule, Sunwing is focusing on its eastern roots, increasing capacity in Atlantic Canada by 26 percent compared to 2022.
In 27 years of serving Canadians, WestJet has cut airfares in half and increased the flying population in Canada to more than 50 percent. WestJet launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees, and five destinations, growing over the years to more than 180 aircraft, 14,000 employees, and more than 110 destinations in 24 countries.
