Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced that ACG has cemented an order for thirteen 737 MAX jets, pushing their total order book to 47 737 MAXs.

The new order covers seven 737-8 and six 737-10 aircraft, reflecting ACG’s intention to diversify its single-aisle options. This move responds to growing customer demand for the eco-friendly 737 MAX airplane family.
“We are pleased to expand ACG’s commitment to the 737 MAX program. This additional order will allow ACG to offer highly fuel-efficient and versatile aircraft to our airline customers worldwide,” said Steven Udvar-Hazy, Senior Vice President and Chief of Aircraft Operations at ACG.
Christy Reese, Vice President of Global Leasing Commercial Sales and Marketing at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said: “ACG’s growing and diverse 737 MAX portfolio allows its customers to operate a more sustainable, efficient fleet. We look forward to helping ACG deliver the most fuel-efficient airplanes in the industry to its airline partners.”
Why The 737 MAX Family?
The 737 MAX series offers airlines a blend of efficiency and adaptability for short to medium-range flights. For airplane lessors like ACG, the 737 MAX family has proved invaluable. To put it into perspective, lessors globally have placed orders for over 1,300 737 MAX jets.
Considering specifications, the 737-8 variant can accommodate up to 210 passengers, boasting a range of 3,500 nautical miles. On the other hand, the 737-10, the largest plane of the 737 MAX family, can seat up to 230 passengers and has a range of 3,100 nautical miles. Furthermore, these models consume 20% less fuel and emit 20% less carbon than their predecessors.
Interestingly, each 737 MAX curtails CO2 emissions by up to eight million pounds annually compared to the aircraft they replace. Moreover, they promise a quieter flight experience, minimizing noise footprint by a staggering 50%.
