Singapore Airlines Enhances Premium Economy Class In-Flight Experience With New Dining Options And Amenity Kits

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled its updated Premium Economy Class in-flight experience, which includes an improved and expanded selection of food and beverage options and a new amenity kit.

Premium Economy Class customers will now be offered a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne shortly after take-off. On their flight, passengers can peruse a hard copy menu card listing the variety of meal, snack, and beverage options. Their selected meals will be served in elegant custom-made porcelain Premium Economy Class serviceware.

Starting 31 March 2024, an all-new Out of the Woods amenity kit, designed exclusively for Premium Economy Class customers, will also be available on flights at least seven hours long.

These experience enhancements mark the first comprehensive revamp of SIA’s Premium Economy Class in-flight experience since Singapore Airlines introduced the Premium Economy cabin class in 2015.

“Since its introduction in 2015, Premium Economy Class has become popular with our customers. They appreciate the added amenities, heightened comfort, and the extra personal space it offers, all at an excellent value,” Mr Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience, Singapore Airlines, said. “At Singapore Airlines, though, our philosophy is to never stand still. We regularly gather customer feedback and conduct market research, learn more about the evolving value drivers for travellers, and find innovative ways to continue delivering a personalised and world-class in-flight experience. Based on these insights, we have undertaken this comprehensive revamp of our Premium Economy Class in-flight offerings, which we believe will delight our customers. The result reflects Singapore Airlines’ dedication to enhancing the Premium Economy Class experience to a class of its own.”

New Singapore Airlines Premium Economy Dining Options

SIA has developed over 200 new appetizers, main courses, and desserts to expand the Premium Economy Class in-flight meals. Premium Economy Class meals will consist of a seasonal appetizer, main course, bread, dessert, and cheese and crackers, all served on a full-sized tray.

Upgraded bread options include croissants for breakfast or garlic bread rolls for lunch, dinner, and supper. New appetizers include garlic roasted prawns with smoked aioli and Patatas Bravas (Spanish fried potatoes), broccoli salad with hot smoked salmon, and seasonal variations of Japanese cold noodles with soba sauce.

Customers may choose from two premium main course options on every flight: international or Asian cuisine. Highlights include new dishes such as beef bourguignon served with bacon, mushrooms, vegetables, and potato gratin, Bak Chor Mee (minced pork noodles), and Thai-style Crab Curry served with a combination of jasmine rice and brown rice and seasonal vegetables with egg.

Customers may also choose from an expanded Book the Cook menu, which features up to 20 dishes available on rotation for pre-order at least 24 hours before departure. This includes popular choices such as Singapore Style Seafood Hor Fun

Customers can enjoy delectable desserts specially crafted for them. These include Chocolate Mousseline Cake, Mascarpone Cream Cake, and Apple Crumble Cheesecake. Meals are accompanied by a small bar of chocolate and upgraded cheese and crackers.

The meals will be served in contemporary stoneware glazed porcelain serviceware, presented on a linen-lined tray with neatly tucked silverware, lending an air of elegance.

Premium Economy Snack and Beverage Selection

Complementing the meals is a selection of wines and Champagne, curated by SIA’s panel of wine experts exclusively for the Premium Economy Class cabin. In addition to the Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne, customers can
choose between the 2023 Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc and the 2022 St Hallett Faith Shiraz. An extensive selection of spirits, including whisky, gin, vodka, signature cocktails like the Singapore Sling, and various beers, will also be available.

Peppermint and Chamomile teas and hot chocolate from Cadbury have also been added to the non-alcoholic beverage selection. These complement the wide range of options, including soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee, and teas.

Customers can request new snack options between meals, such as almonds and cashews. Other options include potato chips, assorted buns, sandwiches, muffins, and flavored popcorn.
