Emirates and AEGEAN Airlines have grown their codeshare partnership by adding an Athens-New York (Newark) route. This announcement arrives as both airlines commemorate a year of successful collaboration. Over 16,800 passengers have flown on existing codeshare flights.
Benefits for Travellers
Emirates’ passengers can now experience an Athens stopover, further taking advantage of AEGEAN’s wide network to sought-after Greek and European locations. Also, those flying with AEGEAN gain accessibility to Emirates’ connections between Athens and Dubai and between Athens and Newark.
Established in August 2022, the strategic codeshare between these airlines provided a unified booking system. Customers could book flights from Emirates’ vast network to eight distinct Greek points through Athens on a single ticket, emphasizing a unified baggage policy. This partnership also featured AEGEAN placing its signature on Emirates-operated routes connecting Dubai and Athens. This translates to frictionless and convenient travel between these pivotal hubs.
Booking More of the World with Ease
With the codeshare’s evolution, AEGEAN extends its reach to 17 domestic destinations and 53 points across regional Europe and the Middle East, stemming from its Athens base. Concurrently, Emirates grants its customers access to an expansive global network reaching over 140 destinations from its primary Dubai hub. Cumulatively, these airlines collectively touch 200 global destinations.
For travel enthusiasts and professionals alike, creating their ideal itinerary is a breeze on emirates.com and aegeanair.com. Moreover, these routes are available via both online and offline travel agencies.
