SAS Officially Signs Up To Join SkyTeam Starting September 1

SkyTeam and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have agreed that SAS will become a member of the SkyTeam alliance starting from September 1, 2024.

  • SAS customers will benefit from seamless products and more travel options to several previously unserved destinations.
  • All EuroBonus members will benefit from earning and burning points, while Gold and Diamond members will enjoy SkyPriority services and lounge access.

Signing Official SkyTeam Agreement

Today, in Amsterdam, SkyTeam and SAS signed an Alliance Adherence Agreement, marking a significant step towards SAS joining the global airline alliance. Both parties are focusing on a seamless transition for customers.

What Does SAS Joining SkyTeam Mean For Customers?

From 1 September 2024, SAS will join the SkyTeam alliance, improving access to Scandinavian hubs and enhancing SkyTeam’s global network. This partnership will offer new destinations, better connectivity, and a superior travel experience.

When SAS joins the SkyTeam alliance, EuroBonus members will benefit from enhanced privileges. Silver members will be at the SkyTeam Elite level, while Gold and Diamond members will achieve Elite Plus status. These statuses allow access to over 750 airport lounges worldwide and SkyPriority services, which include priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling.

SAS customers will benefit from increased connectivity to more than 1,060 destinations in the SkyTeam network, covering new and previously unserved areas in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Both SkyTeam and SAS are focused on providing excellent customer experiences through quality products, innovation, and dedicated service.

SkyTeam members serving SAS’ hubs include Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines and Middle East Airlines.
