    The Joyous Kick-off

Delightfully merging the world of rugby with aviation, the video displays Peyper enthusiastically guiding Emirates’ A380 – uniquely painted with the RWC 2023 livery – towards the runway. As Jaco dashes past the massive aircraft, he signals it to push back with a whistle blow. This marked the symbolic take-off of the A380 to Paris, capturing the spirit and excitement of the Rugby World Cup 2023.

This light-hearted campaign follows in the footsteps of the successful ‘Whistle Watch.’

The award-winning series, presented by the ex-international referee Nigel Owens and supported by Emirates, promises rugby enthusiasts special episodes shot across the picturesque landscapes of France.

With its position as a Worldwide Partner of RWC 2023, Emirates guarantees significant visibility throughout the games. The airline leaves no stone unturned, from Television Match Official branding to exclusive hospitality and ticketing privileges.

Rugby aficionados have more to be thrilled about. Emirates also hosts a fan activation zone in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille. These zones will buzz with the “fly better” initiatives, with Emirates Cabin Crew capturing heartwarming moments of fans. What’s more? Fans get to relish these memories printed in a limited-edition RWC 2023 photo frame. For the luxury aficionados, exclusive tasting sessions of Dom Pérignon champagne and cognac await, thanks to a partnership with LVMH at Emirates’ premium hospitality chalet.

    A Steadfast Patron of Rugby

Held every four years, the Rugby World Cup is an event of international repute. This year, the event spans from 8 September to 28 October, covering nine enchanting French cities.

Emirates’ association with World Rugby is deep-rooted, having started in 2007. With partnerships spanning several years and tournaments, it’s evident that Emirates and rugby share a legacy.

This year, Emirates again showcased its commitment to the sport. The airline transported The Webb Ellis Cup from South Africa to Paris on its A380. The South African rugby icon Tendai Mtawarira accompanied the trophy on its flight.

Also, Emirates Airline’s ongoing support for rugby is global. The airline has been the Title Sponsor of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens for three decades. Emirates also sponsors the Cape Town Sevens. The airline’s Rugby partnerships extend to the South African Emirates Lions. And, of course, Emirates Airline also supports the home team. Since 2011, Emirates has sponsored Dubai Hurricanes Rugby Football Club and the UAE Rugby Federation.

Serving Rugby Fans with Seamless Connectivity

During Rugby World Cup 2023, Emirates stands ready to fly fans with 35 weekly flights to France. Also, passengers can experience Rugby-themed in-flight amenities. They include a selection of 37 French wines and champagnes, live match telecasts, and much more.
