United Airlines has announced two key promotions in its executive team. Josh Earnest and Terri Fariello, who have been at the forefront of United’s strategic decisions, have been promoted to Executive Vice Presidents.
Meet the New Leaders at United
Josh Earnest is the new Executive Vice President of Communications and Advertising. Since joining United in 2018, Earnest has displayed exemplary leadership in molding the airline’s communication and advertising strategies. Before United, he brought his rich experience from politics and government, including his tenure as the White House Press Secretary between 2014 and 2017. Under his leadership, United’s brand presence has witnessed a remarkable uplift, with the airline being recognized by renowned platforms like Time, Fast Company, and Fortune. One of his groundbreaking campaigns for United was “Good Leads The Way,” which resonated with the airline’s ethos of customer service, diversity, and sustainability.
Terri Fariello takes the helm as the Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and Global Public Policy. Fabriello has been a beacon of guidance in the complex government relations landscape. Stationed in Washington, D.C., she has been the face of United’s interactions with various Presidential Administrations. Before her time at United, Terri had a commendable 16-year stint at Exxon Mobil. As a visionary, she has steered United towards sustainable goals, aiming to be 100% green by 2050.

Terri, a recognized figure in government relations, is known for her active participation in the Washington, D.C. community. She’s associated with boards of esteemed organizations like the Economic Club of Washington and the Humane Rescue Alliance.
