Dalek Surprises British Airways Customers at London Heathrow Airport to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who.

British Airways passengers at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 got an unexpected surprise when they encountered a special guest: a Dalek! The fearsome foe from Doctor Who made an appearance, both in the Arrivals hall and Departures area. Confused customers spotted the iconic villain checking in for a flight to Skaro. It’s a destination not normally on British Airways’ route network.
This surprise visit by the Dalek was part of the new partnership between British Airways and BBC Studios in honor of Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary. To celebrate, British Airways is launching a dedicated Doctor Who inflight entertainment channel. It will be available to all passengers on long-haul flights starting November 1. The channel will feature 13 acclaimed episodes from the long-running science fiction series. It’s a treat for Doctor Who fans throughout their journey.
Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, said: “We are really excited to be partnering with the BBC’s Doctor Who to create a dedicated channel on our inflight entertainment system, another fantastic British Original partnership that we know our customers will love. This year alone, we have doubled the amount of content available on our in-flight entertainment, and we are committed to continue to bring the best, out of this world, entertainment to the skies.”
Sarah Bold, Head of Marketing, Scripted at BBC Studios, said: “Doctor Who has been inspiring and entertaining audiences globally for an incredible 60 years, and we couldn’t miss this opportunity to bring two iconic British brands together in style to celebrate. Travelers and subscribers will enjoy a curated collection of content, and the tie-in will reach millions throughout the partnership.”
