Norwegian continues to expand its route network, announcing direct flights from Oslo to Istanbul starting in the spring of next year.
Norwegian recently launched 40 new routes to European destinations and is adding one more. The airline will offer two weekly flights between Oslo and Istanbul starting in April next year.
“We continue to expand the route network with exciting destinations, and we know that Istanbul is a sought-after tourist destination because the city is rich in both culture and history. We look forward to welcoming customers on board,” says Magnus Thome Maursund, commercial director at Norwegian.
The flight to Istanbul takes just over four hours. The city that connects East with the West is a treasure trove of exciting sights. The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar are among the historical and cultural treasures travelers can explore. Istanbul is a city that can be experienced both on foot and by sea. This allows for various activities, and prices are often better than in some destinations in the West. There are also many exciting attractions outside the city. Visit the region of Cappadocia or cruise to the Bosphorus Strait. Football fans have opportunities to cheer on Besiktas, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahce.
Norwegian Offers More than 330 Routes to 120 Destinations Next Summer
With Istanbul in the route program, Norway will have 10 new routes, seven from Oslo next year. In total, Norwegian will fly more than 330 routes to over 120 destinations next summer season.
“We are immediately putting behind us one of the best years in the company’s history, and we are in the top tier when it comes to punctuality in Europe. Norwegian is well positioned in the market with an attractive route offer, a modern fleet, and has a high level of trust among travelers,” says Maursund.
From 2011-2016, Norwegian flew between Oslo Airport Gardermoen and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport as part of the midsummer program. The route the airline now opens flies to Istanbul International Airport. Flights start on 14 April 2024, and the two weekly departures will be on Wednesday and Sunday.
