New SWISS ‘Taste of Switzerland’ Menu: Kempinski Palace Engelberg

SWISS is treating its premium travelers to a delightful culinary experience in Central Switzerland. As part of its ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ in-flight program, SWISS First and SWISS Business customers on outbound long-haul flights from Switzerland can now savor the gastronomic creations of Michéle Müller. Michéle is the executive chef at the luxurious five-star Kempinski Palace Engelberg Hotel in Canton Obwalden.

For the next three months, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will offer exclusive culinary delights from the kitchen of Kempinski Palace Engelberg to its First and Business Class guests on long-haul flights from Switzerland.

Michéle Müller’s inventive dishes, inspired by the menus of the renowned hotel nestled in the stunning Central Swiss Alps, reflect her international experience and expertise. The Kempinski Palace Engelberg, a member of the Kempinski Group, boasts a stellar reputation, holding an impressive 14 GaultMillau points.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our inflight guests these creations by Michéle Müller,” says Julia Hillenbrand, Head of Brand Experience at SWISS. “Michéle works with surprising ingredients and interprets classic dishes with her own distinctive flair. So our passengers can look forward to some genuine culinary highlights from the Kempinski Palace Engelberg’s five-star kitchens.”

“I spent several years cooking in the Middle East,” adds Michéle Müller, “and my experiences there made a lasting impression on me. That’s why I like to develop my dishes with exotic spices that breathe new life into classic concoctions. And I’m honored that I can now share my creations with SWISS’s passengers, too.”

Tasty Treats from the Kempinski Palace Engelberg’s Culinary World

For SWISS First guests, relish the exquisite salmon trout served with beurre noisette, complemented by a luscious smoked almond cream. Delicate parsley potatoes and cauliflower complete this remarkable dish.

For SWISS Business travelers, indulge in a mouthwatering beef tenderloin seasoned with za’atar spices and a delectable date jus. Savor the mashed potato combination with a hint of harissa alongside carrots and Romanesco.

SWISS Premium Economy travelers can look forward to a three-course meal inspired by the Obwalden region. Enjoy marinated chicken infused with honey, a flavorful lentil ragout, and Obwalden cheese. Indulge your sweet tooth with a heavenly dessert of chocolate gingerbread and a mouthwatering red wine pear compote.

Since 2002, SWISS has offered First, Business, and Premium Economy Class travelers on long-haul flights from Switzerland a remarkable culinary journey. Every three months, a renowned Michelin-starred and GaultMillau-rated chef is invited to curate a diverse selection of dishes. Each new menu showcases the specialties of their respective ‘home’ canton. Emphasizing regional and seasonal delicacies, each meal is accompanied by exquisite wines and cheeses from the featured region. Over 21 successful years, the ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland‘ program has welcomed 82 guest chefs representing one of Switzerland’s 26 cantons.
