Cathay Pacific’s Planned Lounge Updates

The reopening of The Bridge marks the first stage in Cathay Pacific’s lounge enhancement plan. This plan encompasses its lounges in Hong Kong and beyond. The airline is preparing for the renovation of The Wing, First. It will close on 23 May and reopen in 2026. The Wing, Business will follow at its Hong Kong hub. This ensures that customers continue to enjoy a premium lounge experience during the renovation of these lounges.

Another of the airline’s Business class lounges, The Deck, is also being enhanced. From 21 May, The Deck will serve as an interim First class lounge during the renovation of The Wing. Eligible customers can also continue visiting The Pier, First and The Pier, Business during this time.

Over the next two years, Cathay Pacific will be launching new flagship lounges in Hong Kong and Beijing. For the very first time, the airline will also launch a lounge in New York. This is part of the Cathay Group’s investment of over HK$100 billion. The investment covers new airplanes, cabin products, lounges, and digital innovations.

Cathay Pacific’s The Bridge: Human-Centric Design

The Bridge lounge is located conveniently near Departure Gate 35 at HKIA’s Terminal 1. The newly redesigned lounge demonstrates Cathay Pacific’s dedication to human-centric design. It places its customers’ needs and wishes at the heart of the design process. The Bridge combines thoughtful propositions, design elements, and material choices. This creates a residential ambiance. It ensures that customers feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

General Manager Customer Experience Design Guillaume Vivet said: “Our goal was to create a space that feels genuinely welcoming — one that reflects our commitment to thoughtful, human-centric design.

“From the furniture and dining to the scent and music, every detail has been carefully considered to enhance comfort and contribute to a relaxed, refined atmosphere. The result is a space where customers can truly unwind – a retreat designed to enrich their journey and leave a lasting impression with every visit.”

Cathay Pacific The Bridge Lounge: Design Aesthetics

The cherry wood, framed screens, black granite, and travertine at The Bridge come together to foster a residential environment. Carefully selected plants, furniture pieces, and original artworks from the airline’s award-winning “Gallery in the Skies” concept create a cohesive look. They form a harmonious space.

A Streamlined Reception At Cathay Pacific’s Renovated The Bridge

The Bridge will soon be the first Cathay Pacific lounge to adopt a biometric check-in system. This innovation offers an innovative and streamlined check-in process. It will be complemented by a traditional check-in desk.

The Bridge Offers Spaces To Dine and Plenty Of Room To Relax

Dining at The Bridge is divided into the left and right-hand sides. The left side offers Chinese favorites and delicacies. The right side focuses on international culinary delights.

Customers can visit Cathay Pacific’s iconic Noodle Bar on the left-hand side. It serves signature dishes and all-time favorites. These include wonton, dan dan noodles, and dim sum. The rotating menus are further enriched by new Chinese favorites. They range from main dishes like biangbiang mian or braised beef shin with cauliflower. There are also punchy vibrant salads and delectable desserts.

Additionally, this side of The Bridge features The Nook. It is a brand-new concept for Cathay Pacific’s lounges. This concept complements and extends the culinary offerings of the Noodle Bar. It also expands the dining seating into this cozy corner. Customers will discover a variety of Chinese regional small plates.

There are lighter options packed with punchy flavor and texture. These include made-to-order savory filled bao, crispy scallion pancakes, and steaming rice rolls. A custom dim sum cart, reminiscent of Hong Kong restaurants, is as elegant as it is functional.

The right-hand side boasts a dedicated space for First class customers and Cathay Diamond members. They can unwind in comfort and privacy. The engaging Cathay team looks after them.

Also on this side of the lounge is the Food Hall. It is part of the international offering. The hall features front-of-house ovens for an elevated oven-to-plate concept. The menu is wholesome, comforting, and familiar. It offers individual casseroles like beef bourguignon and Provencal vegetable bakes. There are also freshly baked pastries, vibrant salads, and moreish desserts.

The Bar offers impressive panoramic views of the runway. It’s the perfect place for customers to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails. They can also savor barista coffees or a glass of Champagne. All this can be done while chatting with the engaging Cathay bartenders. The relaxation area has the airline’s bespoke Solo Chairs. Customers enjoy an elevated lounge experience unlike any other.
