Emirates has announced an expanded A380 service to Sydney starting in November, translating to nearly 2,000 extra seats every week. Additionally, the airline announced a planned return of flights to Adelaide on the A350.

All A380 Service to Sydney
Using all three slots available at Sydney Airport, Emirates promises to upgrade to its third daily flight from 4 November 2023. This swap from the Boeing 777-300ER to the A380 service (boasting a three-class configuration of 489 seats), means more than 260 additional seats daily. The expanded service is not just about capacity but also enhanced connectivity. Travelers can expect more seamless connections from Dubai to prime destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. And for those seeking a premium travel experience, two of these Sydney A380 services come with Emirates’ latest Premium Economy cabin.
Emirates runs 63 weekly services to Australia, offering nearly 56,000 seats across its main gateways. This includes three times daily operations to Melbourne and Sydney, double daily flights to Brisbane, and A380 daily flights to Perth. Moreover, Melbourne to Singapore and Sydney to Christchurch are back on the roster, offering A380 experience across the Trans-Tasman.
A350 Rolls In – Adelaide on the Radar
Summer of 2024 will witness another upgrade in Emirates’ fleet with the introduction of the Airbus A350. This addition hints at fleet expansion and the opportunity for more of Emirates’ long-range aircraft to touch bases like Adelaide. The airline is discussing plans with Adelaide Airport to revive nonstop services. Emirates intends to keep Australia better connected to its expansive network.
For those planning their itineraries, the third A380 service from Dubai to Sydney will set off at 2130hrs. It lands in Sydney at 1820hrs local time. The return journey departs from Sydney at 21:10, reaching Dubai by 04:30 local time.
Emirates serves over 50 global destinations with the A380. The airline plans to add more cities in the months ahead.
