    Singapore stands on the brink of a new era in air travel, thanks to the completed engineering and expansion works at Changi Airport Terminal 2 (T2). Today, we explore the renovated terminal, designed to offer the modern traveler a seamless and luxurious experience.

    Completed Expansion Works

    After three and a half years of meticulous engineering and construction, T2 commences operations with enhanced features. The terminal’s capacity has increased to handle 28 million passengers annually, marking a significant stride in accommodating the resurgent air travel demand, currently at 87% of pre-Covid levels.

    A Glimpse into the Future of Air Travel

    The rejuvenated T2 combines state-of-the-art technology with intuitive design. Introducing a central common-use Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST) zone equipped with automated check-in kiosks and bag drop machines exemplifies efficiency and convenience. The immigration halls, too, have been augmented, boasting additional automated lanes to ensure swift and hassle-free transit.

    Nature-Inspired Aesthetics

    Every detail at T2 is crafted to elevate the passenger experience. Drawing inspiration from nature, the terminal is adorned with natural materials and lush green columns, offering passengers a tranquil oasis amid their journeys.

    Enhanced Amenities, Entertainment, FAB and Retail Therapy

    Passengers are in for a treat with an expanded retail and dining landscape. Whether indulging in delicacies at Gourmet Garden or exploring an array of international and local brands, T2 promises an eclectic mix of options. The terminal is a transit point and a destination offering diverse culinary and shopping experiences.

    New FAB and Retail Concepts

    Discover many exciting new retail and food & beverage (FAB) stores in public and transit areas. T2 has already opened eight out of ten shops, with more joining in the coming weeks.

    The public areas at T2 offer a range of enticing new brands, both local and international. If you’re a fan of dim sum, don’t miss out on Swee Choon, a beloved homegrown brand. Indulge in their delectable Hong Kong milk tea gelato, a collaboration with the popular local ice cream café Creamier. Experience the unique blend of flavors at Kenangan Coffee, an Indonesian brand renowned for its affordable yet high-quality coffee. Their Kenangan Latte, which combines espresso with gula aren (a natural sweetener), is a must-try. Chagee has curated a collection of premium milk and fruit teas for tea enthusiasts.

    In addition to these newcomers, famous brands like Paris Baguette, with its innovative digital concept store, and Eu Yan Sang, the traditional Chinese medicine retailer, have also returned to the public areas of T2.

    A Feast At Changi T2 Gourmet Garden

    Experience a feast for the senses at the Gourmet Garden, a haven for hungry travelers. Immerse yourself in the stunning ambiance of this dining area, offering a panoramic view of the bustling apron where planes gracefully taxi. With its lush foliage creating a tranquil atmosphere, the Gourmet Garden is the perfect place to unwind and indulge.

    Discover a range of delectable options at your fingertips. Treat yourself to a quick bite at GOPIZZA, a new Korean chain debuting at Changi. Hudsons offers a cozy retreat for coffee lovers, while Boost Juice tempts with refreshing smoothies. Donut enthusiasts will find delight at the Dunkin’ kiosk. Craving for Asian flavors? Savor the authentic dishes of Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu and indulge in the Chef Wei HK Cheong Fun experience.

    Retail therapy awaits with newly opened shops that cater to diverse tastes. Lose yourself in the elegance of luxury Italian jeweler Pomellato. To taste Singapore’s heritage, explore Old Seng Choong, where you’ll find an array of nostalgic baked goods and flavorful souvenirs. The Gourmet Garden is a true culinary oasis that will satisfy you completely.

    New Amenities at Changi T2

    The 2 Bears Hideout invites children to embark on an exciting playtime adventure. Explore the wilderness with mother and baby bear companions in a delightful blend of adventure and wonder.

    Passengers in transit can take advantage of various amenities at the airport. A state-of-the-art TV lounge is available, where they can catch up on the latest sports events and enjoy live TV programs. The lounge features a large LED screen, comfortable plush seating, and multiple charging points, including convenient wireless charging pods.

    For eligible passengers, there are several exclusive lounges to choose from. These include the DBS Private Access Lounge, KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, SATS Premier Lounge, and SilverKris Lounge, where they can relax and unwind before their departure flights. In addition, there are options such as the Ambassador Transit Hotel and Lounge for those who need a place to rest, as well as the Connect at Changi Lounge, where business travelers can network and connect with others.

    Innovations for a Sustainable Future

    Sustainability sits at the core of T2’s design. The new chiller plant exemplifies energy efficiency, delivering cooling at 30% lower energy consumption. The terminal’s baggage handling system has enhanced security features and is designed to boost manpower productivity.

    A Collaboration for Excellence

    The transformation of T2 is the product of collaboration between Changi Airport Group and partners like the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority. Every terminal element is meticulously crafted to elevate the passenger experience.

    Mr Tan Lye Teck, Changi Airport Group’s Programme Director for the Terminal 2 Expansion Project, said, “We extend our deep gratitude to the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, as well as other agencies and partners for their support toward the T2 Expansion Project.     Airlines Operating at Singapore Changi T2 

    Since May 2022, the terminal has handled over 8.7 million passenger movements served by 12 airlines. Effective today, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines (flights to Southeast Asia, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka), and SWISS will begin operating from the northern wing of T2. Singapore Airlines First Class Check-In Reception and the SATS Premier Check-In Lounge have also opened in the terminal.

    Air Japan, All Nippon Airways, Etihad, Indigo, and Singapore Airlines flights to Maldives and Nepal will move to T2 next month. This will bring the total number of airlines operating at T2 to 16.

    The unveiling of the northern wing of T2 marks a significant milestone in Singapore’s air travel landscape. As borders reopen and the world reconnects, passengers can look forward to a harmonious blend of efficiency, luxury, and sustainability at Changi Airport Terminal 2.
