    Emirates Airlines and Penélope Cruz recently collaborated on an exciting advertising campaign that has captivated audiences worldwide. This campaign, which features Emirates brand ambassador Cruz experiencing the luxurious amenities of Emirates First and Business Class, has garnered attention for its unique behind-the-scenes production.

    In a special video released by Emirates, viewers get a glimpse into the tremendous effort and planning that went into shooting this campaign on a massive aircraft. The footage also includes interviews with Emirates Cabin Crew, who had the delightful opportunity to interact with Cruz during the filming process.

    Academy Award-winning actor Penélope Cruz visited Dubai for a week to star in the ads. The commercials showcase Cruz enjoying a wide range of exclusive experiences, such as savoring a well-crafted beverage in the A380 Onboard Lounge, indulging in a refreshing shower at 30,000 feet, and watching live football matches from the comfort of her seat. Not to mention, there’s also a delightful scene featuring a generous serving of luxurious caviar.

This exclusive glimpse into the making of the ad campaign further enhances the overall experience and excitement surrounding this collaboration between Emirates and Penélope Cruz.

    An Emirates production takes a lot of work and a team of hundreds of experts to make it happen.

    Fast Facts About the Filming Process:

    • Over 160 people, including 36 international crew and 125 local crew and cast, participated in the filming of these ads.
    • Penélope Cruz was filmed inside Emirates’ iconic ‘double-decker’ aircraft, the A380.
    • The shoot was organized in record time, totaling 1,488 production manhours, equivalent to around 165 working days.
    • The UAE authorities gave special permission for all 160 people to access the restricted and highly secure filming area at the airport.
    • Ten large trucks were used to transport catering items and filming equipment.
    • A designated Green Room was built in the hangar for the cast to wait in when they were off-set.
    • All filming equipment went through security checks. It was unloaded, scanned, and loaded onto airside trucks before being stored in a nearby hangar.
    • To create cinematic lighting inside the A380, filmmakers used eight scissor lifts and boom lifts as lighting platforms.
    • The fortunate cabin crew members chosen to meet and interview Cruz were Doyle Kim from Australia and Alessandra Piper from the UK.
    • Robert Stromberg, a double Oscar-winning Hollywood director, directed the TV spots.
    • Ridley Scott Associates supported the production with creative studio Framestore, known for their special effects expertise.
