Cathay Pacific: First In Asia to Feature Disney+ Content
Cathay Pacific General Manager Customer Experience and Design Vivian Lo said: “We are delighted to be the first in Asia-Pacific to bring the original titles and stories from Disney+ to our customers onboard. From beloved classics to blockbuster originals, captivating series, documentaries and family content, there is now an even wider selection of thoughtfully curated entertainment for customers on board Cathay Pacific.
“We are extremely proud of the industry-leading inflight entertainment we provide and we understand the importance many of our customers place on entertainment as a differentiator when choosing who they fly with. By delivering premium brands and titles from Disney+, we are continuing our commitment to offer an unparalleled entertainment experience.”
Cathay Pacific In-Flight Entertainment Advances
Earlier this year, Cathay Pacific earned the 2023 World’s Best Inflight Entertainment Award at the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards. Cathay Pacific stands out in the Asia-Pacific region with its extensive in-flight movie and TV library. This content is available to every passenger through seatback entertainment systems.
Notably, Cathay Pacific has made significant investments in in-flight entertainment technology. With the introduction of the Airbus A321neo, the airline became the first in the world to offer 4K ultra-high-definition screens. These offer a 4K video-on-demand experience. Furthermore, Bluetooth audio streaming is now available across all cabins. This allows passengers to enjoy 4K Hollywood and Asian blockbusters using their personal Bluetooth-enabled headphones.
Additionally, the A350 aircraft introduced a new user-friendly graphical interface (GUI). This intuitive interface, featuring a comfortable dark theme, greatly enhances the in-flight entertainment experience and minimizes disruption to fellow travelers. The airline will progressively implement this new interface on other aircraft models. Cathay aims to ensure a seamless and enjoyable journey for all passengers.
