Inside The New Upgraded Delta Sky Club At Miami International Airport

Delta Sky Club has recently unveiled its upgraded lounge at Miami International Airport, boasting a significant expansion. The lounge now spans an impressive 12,000 square feet. The airline added almost 4,000 square feet to its footprint and over 100 additional seats. This expansion elevates the Club’s capacity by over 50%, allowing approximately 300 guests to enjoy the enhanced space.

“Miami is an important global transport hub, with increasing prominence in the Delta network,” said Claude Roussel, Vice President – Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience. “The expansion and renovation of the MIA Club helps us support the growth in this market and elevates the lounge experience to one suited to the profile of this vibrant city.”

Inspired by Miami’s Bright Colors And Sunny Beaches

Drawing inspiration from Miami’s vibrant hues and the warmth of its sandy shores, the latest expansion is a tribute to the city’s iconic aesthetic. A freshly crafted mosaic celebrates Miami’s timeless Art Deco style. The color scheme mirrors the region’s dazzling turquoise ocean and clear blue skies, paired with the luxurious white and gold tones commonly found in South Florida’s design scene.

Buffet Dining and Comfy Seating

The Club expansion features a new service buffet and additional beverage station to support that higher guest volume. Seating in the expansion is tailored to the business traveler’s needs. Guests will find single-seat dining tables, a communal table with a charging source in the center, and power outlets at almost every seat. Throughout the Club, seating has been refurbished to match the elevated look of the newly added space.

Guests of the renovated lounge can view the H Concourse below from the expansion space.

The Miami expansion starts a year of growth for Delta lounges. The airline plans to open two new Delta Sky Clubs in Charlotte and Seattle and three highly anticipated Delta One Lounges in JFK, LAX, and BOS.

Keeping Miami connected

Delta A350 from below

Delta Air Lines is ramping up for a busy summer by offering an impressive 34 peak-day flights departing from Miami, catering to twelve destinations. Notably, this includes coveted international flights to Havana, Cuba. The flights will be serviced exclusively by Delta’s mainline aircraft, ensuring that passengers can enjoy the luxury of premium cabins across all routes.

The airline will launch daily flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). This addition secures Delta’s presence in all nine of its major domestic hubs in the United States, which include:

  • Atlanta (ATL)
  • Boston (BOS)
  • New York-LaGuardia (LGA)
  • New York-JFK, Minneapolis (MSP)
  • Detroit (DTW), Los Angeles (LAX)
  • Salt Lake City (SLC)
  • Seattle (SEA)

Besides these hub connections, Delta provides direct flights to Raleigh, Orlando, and Washington D.C., offering an extensive network that meets the travel needs of passengers flying from Miami.

Embedded in the community

Delta Airlines has a strong presence in Miami and the larger South Florida area. The airline actively engages with the community through corporate sponsorships. Delta’s support has benefited organizations, including the YMCA of South Florida, KIPP Miami, and the Junior Achievement chapters in Greater Miami and South Florida. Additionally, the airline extends its corporate responsibility to shelters like Covenant House Florida.

Further emphasizing its commitment to sustainability and social initiatives, Delta has formed alliances with the environmental group Clean Miami Beach. It also supports cultural endeavors like Miami Beach Pride. The airline contributed to hunger relief through Feeding South Florida. It also advocates for environmental conservation, cultural diversity, and LGBTQ+ rights and welfare.

As the Official Airline for the Miami Marlins, Delta fosters a strong connection with regional sports. The airline made headlines last year with a striking appearance at Miami Art Week. The airline fostered art appreciation through immersive artwork displays courtesy of six local artists but also patronized a public art space.

Delta and Junior Achievement have engaged with the New World School of the Arts in partnership with LATAM Airlines Group. They offered 25 aspiring students a hands-on introduction to the aviation industry. Volunteers imparted knowledge, giving students an exclusive tour of Miami International Airport operations and sowing seeds for future aviation professionals.

With over 7,500 staffers in Florida, Delta’s contribution to its employees is evident in the significant profit-sharing payouts, totaling $31.5 million this year, affirming the airline’s investment in its staff and the local economy.
