Stockholm Arlanda Airport Now Has The Largest American Express Lounge In The Nordics

American Express has unveiled its renovated lounge at Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s Terminal 5 Marketplace. At nearly 700 square meters, it is now double the original size. This lounge, led by renowned restaurateur Pontus Frithiof, showcases a Nordic-inspired design and is the largest in the company’s Nordic region offerings.

Stockholm Arlanda American Express Lounge

Previously closed for upgrades in March of the previous year, the Amex Lounge by Pontus at Stockholm Arlanda temporarily redirected members to a pop-up location. However, on April 4, the lounge reopened to reveal its new, expanded space.

The updated American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof features natural Scandinavian design elements across its materials, colors, and furniture, aligning with the new Marketplace and the overall aesthetic of Arlanda’s terminals.

“As part of Stockholm Arlanda’s ongoing development, it is particularly pleasing that we are getting a brand new lounge and continuing our collaboration with American Express. It is eagerly awaited that the new American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof will now open at the Marketplace in Terminal 5 and that we will continue to develop and fulfill our target group promise to our passengers of smooth, inspiring experiences where the airport becomes a meeting place in its own right,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, director of marketing and sales at Swedavia.

Renowned restaurateur Pontus Frithiof, known for his exceptional culinary creations at Nordrest’s La Girafe and the upcoming Little Italy, manages the American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof. This lounge offers a crafted menu featuring traditional shrimp sandwiches, classic salmon salad, hot dishes, and vegetarian selections. American Express members can enjoy their meals alongside a curated beverage list. This selection includes locally brewed beer, fine wines, champagne, and various non-alcoholic drinks carefully chosen to pair with the menu.

“The opening of our new American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof at Stockholm Arlanda is part of our ongoing international commitment to offer our members premium benefits, exceptional service and first-class experiences. We know from experience that the access to a relaxing environment, exclusive amenities and the opportunity to enjoy good food and drink before departure is very much appreciated by our members and we look forward to welcoming them to our new lounge and giving them the absolute best start to their journey,” says Philip Trocmé, Country Manager, Nordics at American Express.
