Delta, United Offer New Summer Flights At Stockholm Arlanda

Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport Boosts North American Flights in Summer 2024 — Up to 30 Departures Weekly

Exciting developments at Stockholm’s largest airport promise enhanced connections with North America. Starting from mid-April, Arlanda Airport will introduce two new long-haul routes.

United Airlines and Delta Air Lines mark their return with direct services to Newark and JFK airports, respectively. The 2024 summer season will see a significant uptick in travel options. Airlines will offer up to 30 weekly flights, including up to five daily departures to North America.

These additional routes will improve connectivity from Stockholm, linking it to critical North American hubs. This expansion simplifies travel to popular destinations. It also opens connections to the vital markets of Central and South America.

United and Delta Return to Stockholm

The return of United Airlines and Delta Air Lines to Stockholm Arlanda holds immense promise for travelers seeking to reunite with loved ones or embark on new adventures. It’s a pivotal development for Swedish businesses engaged with the North American market. Given the region’s role as a crucial trade and export partner for Sweden, efficient travel options are indispensable for thriving industries and enterprises.

“That both United Airlines and Delta Air Lines choose to return to Stockholm Arlanda Airport shows a great understanding for Stockholm’s central role as an important hub in the region, both regarding business and cargo as well as for those traveling for leisure,” says Jonas Abrahamsson, president and CEO of Swedavia. “To further facilitate for important goods such as technology and pharmaceuticals to be delivered at shorter times is a main goal of Swedavia, as well as increase the connectivity for people to meet. The new routes, in addition to the existing ones from Stockholm Arlanda and the upcoming two served by Air Canada, will create excellent connectivity, which I think will benefit the market enormously.”

More Direct Flights To North America

Starting in the summer of 2024, Stockholm Arlanda Airport is expanding its direct flight offerings to major North American cities. Air travelers can fly nonstop with Air Canada to Montreal from June 13th, United Airlines to New York beginning June 6th, and Delta Air Lines to Toronto starting April 10th. These new routes complement the existing services to Toronto and New York provided by SAS, giving passengers more choices for their transatlantic journeys.
