Michelin Star Restaurant “Daigo” Collaborates with ANA to Bring Vegan Curry to the Skies
Effective September 1, 2023, ANA will add vegan curry to the light meal menu of its in-flight services. This culinary delight will be available on select routes for international first-class and business-class passengers.
The gourmet plant-based curry is a creation of “Daigo,” a two Michelin-star restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide Tokyo.
This curry, made exclusively of locally-procured vegetables and fruits, refrains from including any animal-derived ingredients or flour. This unique characteristic makes it an appealing choice for customers with specific dietary requirements to savor.

ANA will offer a new vegan meal option, “Vegan Curry with Fruits and Spices,” to first and business-class passengers on select international flights starting September 1, 2023.
Yusuke Nomura, director of “Daigo,” created this gourmet dish. The two-Michelin-starred vegetarian restaurant “Daigo” is famous for its innovative take on Buddhist cuisine. The curry is a delicious mix of local Japanese vegetables and fruits spiced with cinnamon, cardamom, and other aromatic spices.
“At ANA, we are continuously looking for ways to elevate the in-flight experience for our customers. This new meal option reflects our dedication to providing exceptional in-flight dining and our unwavering commitment to catering to our valued customers’ unique preferences and dietary requirements,” said Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience Management and Planning of ANA.
ANA has committed to the “universalization of food” onboard. That promise is an integral component of its Future Promise sustainability initiative. The Vegan Curry with Fruits and Spices has no animal ingredients, chemical seasonings, preservatives, refined sugar, or flour. They tailored the dish to suit various dietary needs and individual food preferences.
On what flights can you savor ANA and Daigo’s new “Vegan Curry with Fruits and Spices”?
Starting September 1, 2023, First class passengers can find the dish onboard ANA’s flights between US and Japan. Business class passengers will find the dish on ANA’s flights from New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur to Japan.
