This move aligns with Etihad’s strategic growth plan to increase service to 125 destinations and manage a fleet exceeding 160 aircraft by 2030.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “We are thrilled to welcome these brand-new, state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliners to Abu Dhabi. Their arrival is key to our network expansion strategy and comes at the perfect time as we continue to add multiple new destinations and expand frequencies into key markets.

“These new aircraft support our commitment to Abu Dhabi, allowing us to bring more guests to experience the incredible capital of the UAE, either as their end destination or on a stopover when connecting across our expanding network.”

Etihad Airways Expands Global Reach with Additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners

Etihad Airways is set to soar into new skies by introducing three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to its fleet. This move comes as the airline announces launches to fresh destinations in the coming months. Travelers can look forward to direct flights to Boston beginning March 31, marking it as Etihad’s fourth US destination. The airline will also commence services to Nairobi and Bali, alongside seasonal flights to popular European hotspots including Nice, Malaga, Mykonos, and Santorini.

Following the induction of a brand-new Boeing 787-10 in October 2023, Etihad continues to grow its network. The last quarter of 2023 saw the airline branching out to Osaka, Copenhagen, and Dusseldorf. It started the new year by adding Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in India’s Kerala region to its route map.

In a bid to dominate multiple markets, Etihad substantially increased flight frequencies. This strategy enhances connectivity across its network, making travel more seamless for passengers.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner series stands out for its fuel efficiency, being 25% more economical than similar-sized aircraft. Etihad proudly operates a total of 43 Dreamliners. Its diverse fleet includes the luxurious Airbus A380, the modern A350, the versatile A320 fleet, and the long-range Boeing 777, bringing the total count to 88 sophisticated aircraft.
