Atlanta will be the 37th nonstop flight destination Alaska Airlines offers from SAN. The airline currently offers 36 nonstop flights to cities across the Northwest, Northeast, California, Mexico, Florida, and all four major islands in Hawaii from San Diego. Alaska Airlines offers the most destinations of any airline operating out of SAN.

“We appreciate Alaska Airlines’ new options to destinations across the country,” said Kimberly Becker, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority President and CEO. “This new nonstop service to Atlanta offers Southern Californians direct access to Georgia’s capital and key economic center while providing easy access for Georgians to the warmth and beauty of San Diego.”

Alaska Airlines joins three other carriers that provide nonstop service to Atlanta, including Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. Atlanta is among the larger transcontinental destinations from SAN, with roughly 450 passengers traveling daily between the two cities.

Pre-Flight Hoppy Travels IPA at SAN

While at San Diego International Airport, passengers can sample their new sustainable beer offerings. The airport has partnered with the East Village Brewing Company and Water Works, Inc. to produce distinct beers brewed from purified air conditioner condensate. The special brew is part of the airport’s eco-friendly practices, showcasing the potential of reusing and recycling resources.

This initiative has resulted in the creation of two special brews: Hoppy Travels IPA and Cruising Ale-titude. Hoppy Travels IPA is a West Coast IPA flavored with grapefruit and guava undertones. Cruising Ale-titude is a honey ale bursting with floral and honey notes. Beer fans can enjoy the beverages at The East Village Brewing Company and SAN Terminal 2 concessions.
