Emirates Serves 45 Million Chocolates A Year To Passengers

Emirates celebrates World Chocolate Day on 7 July by highlighting that passengers consumed 45 million pieces of luxury chocolate onboard over the last year. Customers in all classes enjoy artisan chocolates with their meal service on flights to 140 destinations.

  • Economy Class customers consumed 36.3 million chocolates
  • Premium Economy Class enjoyed 322,000 chocolates
  • Business Class indulged in 8.2 million chocolates
  • First Class relished 122,000 large gourmet chocolate boxes

Emirates collaborates with top chocolatiers and changes the onboard chocolate every three months. Currently, they feature Valrhona, a prestigious French chocolatier known for exceptional, ethically sourced chocolates. Founded in 1922, Valrhona is celebrated for its craftsmanship and B Corp certification.

In partnership with Valrhona, Emirates created a luxury chocolate box for First Class customers, which they offer after meals onboard.

Zeyneb Larabi, Global Travel Retail Director of Valrhona, said:

“Partnering with Emirates underscores our shared values of excellence, attention to detail and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences. This collaboration goes beyond offering a delightful product, it creates lasting memories for customers enjoying the Emirates experience.”

Indulge in a universe of chocolate with Emirates

Emirates selects chocolates from renowned global producers such as Bateel, Coco Jalila, Forrey & Galland, Butlers, Godiva, Canonica, Neuhaus, Pacari, and Hotel Chocolat based on their content, taste, texture, brand recognition, trends, and sustainable sourcing.

Chocolate Desserts Onboard Emirates

Emirates customers craving a chocolate fix can also enjoy chocolate desserts and hot chocolate from the menu across all classes. The airline offers a variety of specially crafted delights as part of its culinary adventure in the skies.

  • In First Class, customers indulge in decadent desserts such as chocolate mousse with passionfruit, a delicate white chocolate tart, velvety chocolate fondant with mascarpone cream, or a vegan chocolate pecan cake with whipped ganache.
  • In Business Class and Premium Economy, customers will indulge in a vegan onyx avocado chocolate tart, a creamy banana mango and milk chocolate dome, or a chocolate mocha marquise wedge elegantly drizzled in salted caramel.
  • In Economy Class, customers will savor their meal with a zesty chocolate and orange mousse or a milk chocolate caramel cake, complemented by a dollop of tangy raspberry coulis.

On longer routes, passengers are treated to chocolate candy bars in snack trays, and children receive chocolate lollipops during festive celebrations. First Class customers can indulge in 85% dark chocolate from Lindt in their goodie baskets. At the Emirates A380 Onboard lounge, customers enjoy vegan and non-vegan sweet treats, including M&Ms, chocolate cake, and mini chocolate delights.

Chocolate in Emirates Lounges

Emirates Lounges deliver an irresistible chocolate experience with an array of exquisite selections. Enjoy homemade Emirates chocolate ice cream, signature Costa Coffee hot chocolate, and various Emirates MasterChef creations. Savor the white chocolate and passionfruit nectar cake, rich chocolate macarons, and decadent dark chocolate cake.

The newly introduced Emirates First Class dessert trolley elevates the experience.
