Air India Revolutionizes Inflight Entertainment for Long-Haul Flights
Air India has announced the launch of its revamped in-flight entertainment system. This update promises to enhance the travel experience for passengers on long-haul flights. Air India offers a colossal library of varied content spanning diverse genres.
Over 2,200 Hours of Entertainment Content
Passengers can now indulge in over 2,200 hours of entertainment with this high-quality in-flight entertainment (IFE) system. The content array includes 1,000 hours of the latest and classic movies, 600 hours of engaging TV shows, and 600 hours of diverse audio programming tailored to the modern traveler’s preferences. The upgraded IFE experience will be accessible on Air India’s new fleet. That includes the A350s, the recently added B777-200LRs, and the forthcoming widebody aircraft.
A $400 Million Investment In Passenger Experience Upgrades
As part of a significant $400 million refurbishment effort for the second half of 2024, Air India’s existing widebody fleet will undergo a complete interior makeover. That includes integrating this advanced IFE system.

A Large Selection of Movies from Around the World
The curated library boasts the largest collection of Indian films in the air. Classic gems like “Sholay” and “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” are included. So are recent hits such as “Kantara” and “Drishyam 2,” among over 250 Indian titles. The selection spans eight languages with 76 regional films, leading web series, and digital content.
The Hollywood movie selection satisfies all tastes. It features nearly 200 titles, including BAFTA and Oscar winners. Watch new releases like “Barbie,” and “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One.” Enjoy popular film series like Harry Potter and Spider-Man.
Air India provides a rich collection of films in 14 languages for international cinema enthusiasts. They include French, Spanish, and Japanese films, to name a few, ensuring that the global audience is well-served.
Over 900 Episodes of Popular Shows
The IFE library also features over 900 episodes from Western, Indian, and International TV shows and digital content. Passengers can access hit series from streaming platforms and networks like Paramount, HBO, Prime Video, Sony Liv, and Hulu. Full seasons invite onboard viewing marathons.
Air India Radio
Launch of Air India Radio: Passengers can enjoy an exclusive auditory experience with thematic podcasts like ‘Cup O’tales.’ Tune in to over 800 music tracks from multiple genres. Enjoy over 60 curated playlists spanning classical to contemporary tunes.
55 Hours of Kids Zone Entertainment
Families and young flyers aren’t forgotten. Air India’s new IFE features a Kids Zone with over 55 hours of age-appropriate content, including educational and fun-filled shows for toddlers to teens.
Panasonic Avionics Arc 3D Moving Map
Passengers aboard Air India’s A350s will be the first to try the Arc™ 3D moving map from Panasonic Avionics. It features interactive exploration, city guides, and detailed street views of certain cities.
Large, Full-HD Monitors
The inflight viewing experience is enhanced with full-HD 1080p monitors in all classes, touchscreens, and USB and AC power integrated into the new comfortable seats. Business class features a sizable 21-inch HD monitor, while Premium Economy and Economy classes enjoy 13.3-inch and 12-inch screens, respectively.
Air India rolls out new, eco-friendly headsets across all cabins on the A350. Business and Premium Economy passengers will enjoy active noise-canceling headphones. Economy guests will get reusable earphones, contributing to a superior listening experience.

Air India’s evolution with the A350 and the Panasonic eX3 IFE coincides with introducing a refreshed global brand identity. Recent initiatives include a new consumer website, mobile app, and cabin crew uniforms by famed Indian designer Manish Malhotra.
