Lufthansa Cargo Welcomes New Head for DACH & EMEA Regions

Lufthansa Cargo, a global leader in air freight transport, has announced the appointment of Philip Rauchhaus as Head of Region DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) & Key Account Management (KAM) for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

This decision ensures that an experienced leader will supervise and advance the airfreight services in these vital markets, further strengthening Lufthansa Cargo’s position in the air cargo industry.

Philip Rauchhaus, who holds a degree in business administration, became part of the Lufthansa Cargo family in 2009. His journey within the company has seen him rise from the Head of Handling, Process, and Quality Management in Germany to further high-level roles, including Head of Revenue Management in 2014 and Senior Director of Market and Network Planning in 2017. Holding the title of Senior Director of Sales at Frankfurt – Lufthansa Cargo’s central hub – since 2022, Rauchhaus boasts a comprehensive understanding of the airfreight sector.

“With Philip Rauchhaus, we are delighted to have gained an experienced manager for this position who knows the air freight industry inside out. Thanks to his expertise within the company and the experience he brings with him, he will provide new impulses in the marketing of our airfreight capacities and the cooperation with our customers, especially in our home market,” Bhat said.

The former Head of the German sales department, Achim Martinka, had led the role efficiently until his departure on October 31, 2023.

About Lufthansa Cargo AG

Garnering €4.6 billion in revenue with 7.2 billion freight ton kilometers in 2022, Lufthansa Cargo ranks as a top-tier airfreight transporter on a global scale, employing around 4,100 individuals across the world. Focused on airport-to-airport delivery, the company’s vast network encompasses about 300 destinations in over 100 countries, serviced by a fleet of freighter aircraft and passenger flights from several airline partners, alongside ground trucking solutions.

As a pioneering environmental steward in the industry, Lufthansa Cargo has made significant strides in sustainability, from burgeoning its B777F fleet, introducing A321 freighters to expand short and mid-range logistics, to participating in sustainable fuel initiatives. 2023 looks to further green innovations, such as equipping the B777F fleet with Sharkskin technology, launching more digital offerings, and pursuing initiatives to cut CO2 emissions through eco-friendly logistics practices.

Lufthansa Cargo, as a fully-owned entity of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, embodies the logistical expertise of the entire Lufthansa Group.
