Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national carrier, joins forces with Air Serbia to offer a wider range of European destinations.
To broaden their European network, Etihad Airways has teamed up with Air Serbia through a codeshare agreement that promises enhanced connectivity for their passengers. This alliance allows travelers from the UAE to explore new regions in Southeast Europe effortlessly.
With the new partnership, Etihad’s clientele is now privy to streamlined travel options to 12 destinations via Air Serbia’s hub in Belgrade, including nine cities previously not part of Etihad’s network. This expanded access underscores Etihad’s ongoing initiative to bring more tourists to Abu Dhabi, the airline’s vibrant home base.
The codeshare deal will simplify the customer journey, enabling a unified booking system and a smooth check-in experience for travelers flying with Etihad. Passengers can expect convenient luggage handling, with bags automatically sent through to their end-point without hassle.
The collaboration opens Air Serbia’s expanding route network to Etihad’s customers, offering them easy connections from Etihad’s established European gateways, including Athens, Milan, Rome, and Vienna. This partnership is a testament to both airlines’ commitment to providing greater choice and travel flexibility across Southeast Europe.
More Choices, Flexibility, and Convenience on Air Serbia and Etihad Airways Codeshare Flights
Jurriaan Stelder, VP of Alliances and Industry Affairs at Etihad, said: “This partnership further expands our codeshare network and provides our guests with convenient access to 12 of Air Serbia’s leisure and business destinations, including Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Thessaloniki, Tirana, Skopje and Sofia.
“We also look forward to warmly welcoming Air Serbia customers traveling from Europe to Abu Dhabi, where they will have the opportunity to explore the inviting hospitality and rich culture of our home, including the stunning beaches, world-class cultural landmarks, and theme parks, and the serene desert landscapes.”
Boško Rupić, Air Serbia General Manager of Commercial and Strategy, said: “By joining forces with Etihad we expand the reach of our services, offering our passengers a wider array of destinations and connectivity options.
“This translates into more choices, flexibility, and convenience for those who choose Air Serbia for their journeys. Passengers will now enjoy the ease of booking connecting flights and checking in once for their entire journey.”

A Partnership Rooted in History and Future Cooperation
