New York-Bound: Qantas Unveils Latest Aircraft

Get ready, New York! Qantas is making a grand comeback with its first flight since 2020, boasting a shiny new fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners and an array of unique onboard treats for travelers.

Starting June 14, Qantas will be your chariot from Sydney to New York three times a week, adding a fourth weekly flight in October. Buckle up for a brand-new journey, transiting through Auckland before embarking on a 17+ hour non-stop flight to the Big Apple. Say goodbye to the old route via Los Angeles!

This exciting revival of the New York route brings Qantas one step closer to their goal of restoring their pre-COVID international network to full capacity by March 2024.

Markus Svensson, Qantas Group Chief Customer Officer, knows that New Yorkers hold a special place in the hearts of Australian travelers, whether they’re jetting off for business or pleasure. That’s why the airline is pulling out all the stops to celebrate their triumphant return to the city that never sleeps. Speaking of sleep…

Qantas is stepping up the luxury for business class travelers on their New York flights. For a limited period, guests will be treated to an exclusive navy sleeper suit adorned with the signature Qantas “Roo” and Rebecca Vallance logos, marking the flight numbers QF3 and QF4, and a special New York heart design.

“Who doesn’t love a good set of PJs?” Svensson quipped. “At Qantas, we’re one of the few airlines to offer complimentary pajamas to our Business Class passengers. And to make your journey even cozier, we’re launching a limited edition pajama and amenity kit range in collaboration with renowned Australian fashion designer Rebecca Vallance.”

Travelers will also be gifted a unique Rebecca Vallance amenity kit, replacing the usual Koskela kit and featuring a matching eye shade.

For those who want to take a piece of this luxury home, a limited number of these collectible PJ and amenity kit sets are available on the Qantas Marketplace. You can grab yours for $69 or 12,000 Qantas Points (plus delivery).

    Top Design for In-Flight Rest

Rebecca Vallance expressed her excitement over this unique collaboration that combines her love of travel and fashion. The sophistication and style of New York inspire the one-off Qantas design.

“Partnering with Qantas, an iconic Australian brand, is a real honor. New York has always been a second home to me. I’m thrilled to provide travelers with keepsake PJs and amenity kits that will enhance their journey and can be enjoyed long after they’ve touched down,” Vallance said.

The bespoke design is a tribute to one of the world’s most vibrant cities, drawing inspiration from Vallance’s latest collection, ‘Avenue Astoria.’

As a part of this collaboration, Vallance has also crafted two one-of-a-kind couture gowns featuring metallic Italian fabric and Art Deco-inspired patterns. Qantas Frequent Flyers who purchase a Rebecca Vallance design can win these designer dresses and a personalized fitting session.

Qantas has a history of partnering with top-notch Australian and international designers, such as Peter Morrissey and Martin Grant, for exclusive pajamas.

Notable designers and artists, including Marc Newson, Kate Spade, Koskela, and various Australian photographers and First Nations artists, have created amenity kit designs. The new amenity kits include a range of skincare products from Li’Tya.

Qantas’ New Menu: A Gastronomical Delight for Passengers

Neil Perry, Qantas’ maestro of Food, Beverage, and Service, has whipped up a medley of New York-inspired dishes that will take flight with the launch of the new route. This lip-smacking menu is an extension of Qantas’ recently revamped culinary offering

We’re incredibly excited to bring these tastes to our passengers, enhancing their in-flight dining experience,” he added.
