Air France Unveils Gourmet Food Boxes for Business Class on Short Flights

Air France has stepped up its game with an all-new gourmet meal box introduced on February 1, 2024, served to business passengers on its short-distance routes. Thanks to a partnership with the celebrated Servair Corporate Chef François Adamski, a past winner of the prestigious Bocuse d’Or and a Meilleur Ouvrier de France honoree, traveling in style has never tasted better.

No matter the time of your flight, a specially designed menu awaits you. Catch a plane before 10 am? Get ready to savor a delightful breakfast featuring refined sandwiches – think smoked salmon paired with tangy cream cheese and dill spread on soft white bread – followed by a sweet pastry to start your day off right.

Flights departing after 10 am promise a taste adventure with Chef Adamski’s exclusive ‘signature’ sandwiches. Imagine biting into a succulent smoked paprika chicken accompanied by aromatic tarragon-infused veggies, all nestled between slices of hearty granary bread. And don’t miss out on the classic French confections – from the almond goodness of a calisson, the caramelized charm of a cannelé, to the dreamy cream of a tropézienne – these treats are little bites of France that Air France is excited to share.

Enjoy Delectable Sandwiches by François Adamski on Your Flight

Indulge in the exquisite taste of sandwiches crafted by renowned chef François Adamski while flying. These sandwiches are delicious and conveniently designed for easy consumption during shorter flights. Adamski handpicks local, seasonal ingredients to create these culinary delights, ensuring every bite consists of top-quality French meats, poultry, dairy items, PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) cheeses, and sustainably sourced fish. This commitment to quality perfectly aligns with the company’s high standards.

Each month brings a fresh array of these gourmet offerings elegantly packaged in a custom-designed meal box. This service, exclusively for the airline’s Business class customers, comes with a meticulously curated selection of wines and champagnes, now served in actual glasses*, enhancing the luxury of the dining experience. To complete the meal, passengers can choose from various hot and cold beverages.

*For safety reasons, the service of beverages in glassware may be subject to the airline’s current operating protocols.

Air France Elevates In-flight Dining While Focusing on Sustainability

Air France is raising the bar for in-flight services by combining an upscale dining experience with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. The airline is proud to introduce its newest initiative, where meal boxes are not just ordinary food containers. They play a crucial role in the airline’s eco-friendly program.

The cabin crew will sort each meal box and its leftovers for recycling while still on board. This isn’t a standard procedure for most airlines, but with the collaboration of its catering partner, Servair, Air France has taken a groundbreaking step. For the first time, these boxes will undergo a process called methanization. This process turns waste into energy, ensuring the meal boxes are sustainable.

This innovative approach aligns perfectly with Air France’s mission to enhance its services and advocate for French culinary excellence.

Passengers can savor the taste of France through the creations of renowned Chef François Adamski. His exquisite dishes aren’t limited to flights; travelers can indulge in his culinary works of art at the Air France lounge in terminal 2F of Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and in Business class on the airline’s medium-haul routes.

Celebrated French Culinary Artist: François Adamski

François Adamski, a remarkable chef with a distinguished background, started his culinary journey in prestigious kitchens like the Hôtel de Matignon, followed by positions at renowned establishments such as the Plaza Athénée, the Ritz, Maison Prunier, and the Hôtel Intercontinental.

Bocuse d’Or Award Winner

In culinary competitions, Adamski’s skills shone brightly. He won the coveted Bocuse d’Or in 2001—an award that celebrates the best chefs in the world. His exceptional talents further earned him the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, a prestigious award recognizing the finest craftsmen in the country, in 2007.

Before moving to Bordeaux in 2009, Adamski honed his expertise for six years at the Abbaye Saint-Ambroix in Bourges. There, he successfully retained the Michelin star originally awarded to his predecessor. Adamski became the head chef at Gabriel’s in Bordeaux, a charming private hotel in the historic Place de la Bourse. His superb handling of French culinary classics soon earned him a Michelin star.

A Deep Commitment to the Culinary Community

Beyond his kitchen achievements, Adamski has shown a deep commitment to the culinary community. From 2012 until 2020, he served as president of Team France Bocuse d’Or, mentoring the next generation of chefs.

In 2021, François Adamski became vice-president of the Toques Françaises, representing French gastronomy.

Embracing a new challenge in early 2019, Adamski joined Servair, France’s leading airline catering company, as a Corporate Chef. With this position, he aimed to highlight the company’s unique culinary identity and foster a knowledge-sharing culture among chefs. Additionally, as the Secretary General of the Servair Culinary Studio—a hub for culinary innovation comprising starred chefs and experts—Adamski directs the company’s creative food endeavors.
