Special Treats at London Heathrow Terminal 5

Travelers at London Heathrow Terminal 5 are in for a treat when they fly with British Airways. The airline is handing out red envelopes and chocolate coins to its passengers as a fun way to celebrate. Red envelopes are a sign of good luck. And the best part? There could be a special surprise in some of these envelopes—like a free upgrade! It’s something extra to make your trip even more exciting.

Surprise Upgrades: Fly in Luxury to London

British Airways occasionally delights travelers with unexpected upgrades, courtesy of their customer service teams. A few lucky passengers, specifically those born in the Year of the Dragon, might find themselves enjoying the perks of Club World’s business class. This includes entry to elite lounges and an overall boost to the travel experience, making a trip to London even more exciting. These special upgrades introduce a personalized touch, making the journey memorable for those selected.

Unmissable Lion Dance Spectacles at Heathrow

Throughout your travels, keep an eye out for the Lion Dancers right within the terminal’s main area. Their performances infuse the space with the vibrant spirit of the celebration.

Savor the Season: Special In-Flight Menu Celebrations

Savor the special holiday-themed meals available on certain flights for a limited time! From February 10th to 13th in 2024, if you’re flying between Singapore, Hong Kong, and London, you get the chance to enjoy these unique dishes. The celebration continues on trips from Beijing to London, which will feature the festive menu from February 13th to 18th. Plus, you can experience these delights from February 13th to 16th on your journeys from Shanghai to London. Don’t miss out on these exclusive airborne dining experiences!

Gourmet Dining Across the Cabins

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with British Airways and enjoy a journey filled with rich flavors and traditions.

  • If you’re flying First Class, prepare for a gourmet treat with a beef fillet seasoned with bold black pepper. It comes with broccolini spiced with a special Chinese seven-spice mix.
  • In Club World (business class) the menu features spicy Kung Pao prawns, a dish that was once exclusive to royalty in China.
  • First and Club World travelers will end their meal with a sweet note: a white chocolate and tangerine mousse. The tangerine is a nod to Chinese culture, where it’s seen as a lucky fruit, like a symbol for gold, wishing you prosperity for the year to come.
  • Guests in World Traveller Plus (premium economy) and World Traveller (economy) will be part of the New Year festivities with a taste of traditional Huaiyang cuisine. The highlight is Lion’s Head meatballs, a tender pork dish in oyster sauce that’s not only tasty but also meaningful. Its shape is inspired by a lion’s head, a symbol for family togetherness.

Fly to Asia with British Airways this Lunar New Year and start your trip in style, blending luxury with cherished cultural practices. Whether it’s a vacation or a business trip, the celebrations begin as soon as you’re on board!
