Eve Air Mobility Picks Thales Anemobarometric System for eVTOL

Elevating Urban Air Mobility: Thales’ Anemobarometric System Enhances Eve Air Mobility’s eVTOL Safety

Eve Air Mobility is partnering with Thales to advance eVTOL safety. The OEM has selected the Thales anemobarometric system for its cutting-edge electric Vertical Take-off and Landing aircraft. With over two decades of experience and millions of flight hours on diverse aircraft, Thales has tailor-made its high-performance solution specifically for the unique requirements of eVTOL vehicles.

The Thales system will deliver the vital data—like speed, airflow, and altitude—that pilots and onboard mechanisms need to guarantee a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly flight experience. This partnership reflects Thales’ role in shaping the developing urban air mobility sector.

“We share with Eve an innovative state of mind, combined with aeronautical expertise that will enable us to shape the skies of tomorrow sustainably,” said Yannick Assouad, Deputy General Manager Avionics, Thales. “We are pleased to be able to consolidate our partnership and expand the applications of our solutions portfolio, thus contributing to the establishment of environmentally conscious urban air mobility.”

Thales Anemobarometric System: Navigating All Weather Conditions

The Thales anemobarometric system will be a game-changer for Eve Air Mobility’s electric aircraft pilots. It will enable them to navigate all weather conditions with confidence. The Thales solution offers advantages in size, weight, power, and consumption (SWaP). It uses cutting-edge technology, including MEMS sensors and sophisticated computing. These features are particularly crucial during the takeoff, vertical landing, and cruise phases of flight.

Eve Sees High Demand for eVTOL Aircraft

Eve’s electric VTOL aircraft has gained substantial pre-orders, over 2,800 units. These figures reveal enthusiasm for innovative solutions that address the challenges of urban congestion and environmental impact.

Urban air mobility is on the brink of a transformation. Companies like Thales and Eve combine forces to bring about new, sustainable ways to move through cities. The compact and lightweight design of Thales’ anemobarometric solution seamlessly complements Eve’s eight-rotor, fixed-wing electric aircraft. This ensures exceptional functionality across various speeds and flight stages.
